Arriving in Sartène
Sartène was my first surprise in Corsica and possibly the prettiest town I've seen inside the island. It is located in the closed Rizzanese Valley with views of the high peaks that surround it. The town rises halfway up the hill so the views from the main town square are beautiful. The alleys are narrow and cobbled leading to several levels of height within the city.
In the Porta square People relax on their terraces by drinking their Ricard with water. Since I had to drive, I was inclined to avoid pastis and in that same place I tried for the first time a very typical French soda: la menthe à l'eau. In the same Porta square you will find the town hall and the church of Santa María with a beautiful bell tower.
