Gerona is Jewish and a novecentista, she dresses in a movie set, sounds with musical festival chords, covers her medieval streets and courtyards with flowers and in it you still breathe that calm air of big town or old little town.

Some people know Gerona only as capital of the Costa Brava, as a geographical reference on a trip to the beach, the Pyrenees mountains or the green landscapes of the Lower Garrocha.

And here the reasons, and the reasons, for discover another Girona, a Girona that is not a city of passage but destination on its own merits.

The Oñar River Houses

Eating overlooking the Oñar River and multicolored houses, Girona, Costa Brava

Leading contrary to what one expects, the most beautiful of these houses are not their facades but the part that nobody would want to see, let alone show, in other circumstances.

But the back that the Oñar River gives these buildings, built on the narrow strip between the waters and the old wall, is so colorful (by municipal order) and vital that they have become one of the most sought after photographs by tourists.
